Solid Gold makes all kinds of treats without chicken or tureky - Cinnabones, Liver chunkies, Beef Jerky Strips, Garlic bagels, Tiny Tots.
Petguard makes 2 types of meat free biscuits.
Halo Pet makes freeze dried treats called liv-a-littles in beef and fish varieties.

Thanks Puttin 510:
Yummy Chummies sounds pretty interesting, considering the Salmon and that the actual company exists in Alaska. I've never seen this line of treats before. Do you know of a local store here in L.A. that stocks it? I like to try their "original" & that smoked Salmon flavored one.

Thanks Nern:
I just saw these earlier this evening---"Solid Gold-Liver chunkies", and i've read about the Solid Gold garlic bagels but never actually seen them (saw them too). They look really good! If i ever wanted to get something strickly Veggie, i would definatly try to remember those. Decent price for them too (considering there was like 15 "freash" bagels).

***I guess what i forgot to mention in my search for other "alternative-Treats", is that i'm also wanting some type of "meat-protein" in it (even possibly it's principle ingredient[s]).

I thought i've looked into the OMH line of bicuits already knowing that all the ones listing meat protien, have some sort of chicken perservative or something in it as well, that's why i did'nt go w/ OMH. But, they are also a consideration, if i decide to buy a pure Veggie treat (OMH has good free-of-chicken choices).
I always feed the Atlantic Whitefish & Sweet Potato treat from Wellness. And, i've tried the other two as well (their all great). With the Yogart/Apples/& Bannans, i figured that i would rather feed those particular ingredients from the "real" thing. Being even freasher (meaning more nutrients & absorbed easier/faster).
W/ the Crunchy Peanuts & Honey, i just thought that there was/has to be something else out there that would give me better variety from better sources of protein (other than Peanuts). Something like a different type of fish or meat-protein, like lamb, deer, beef, and so on, as long as it was reasonably priced... .
I'll ahve to look into the OMH Lamb & B.Rice thing... sounds like i could give it a try. OMH's prices are pretty reasonable too.

I almost bought this one brand that i've been wanting to get, but they've been too expensive, and then tonight, i saw that they were on a ridiculous sale price and i tried to get 3 different kinds that were Chicken & Turkey Free, but i did'nt have enough money, and i v e r y sadly had to return the 3 D E L I C I O U S looking "new" treats that i sooooooo badly wanted for my boys...(:.
The other sad part is, i forgot what the heck they were called!?! So i can't salivate reading their website... !!
The good news is that i think they actually have these in good ol' Petco.. (the place i went to tonight was kinda far). Hope they still stock em'.
I'll post it's name when i finally get my hands on them... !!!

Be careful ordering from Yummychummies....I also buy this treat for my dogs and they do LOVEEEEE it! BUT, I saw on the web site a whole host of complaints about shipping mistakes, orders not getting there etc. I found them at my dog food shop locally so I don't have to worry about ordering.

Is your dog allergic to chicken/turkey? If so, chicken fat should'nt be a problem because protein/gluten containing ingredients are usually the culprit when it comes to food allergies.

Just for the heck of it I thought I'd also mention Merrick's beef treats. They are 100% beef lung, not too pricey and my dogs go nuts over them.

Someone had mentioned they sold them at Sams club, but I could not find them at the one in Torrance. Maybe next time or another sams club.

Maisey:
Thanks for the heads-up!!!
That's why i was trying/hoping for a local retailer. I particularly don't like ordering "food" off the internet, because i'm picky about freashness & quality, & exactly what you told me (orders being delivered to wrong addresses, & the possible fraud businesses:mad .

Nern,
Thanks A LOT !!
I think i'm going to look more into the Liver-type treats. Sounds really hearty healthy. And the OMH line, and others like it w/ chicken perservatives (fat) and stuff.
I probably should reconsider....

I got "Healthy Treats" from petsmart the other day. They are made with veggies. My dog seems to like them but they are too big for her as she is a Cocker, she will eat them though, it just takes her a while. I hope that this helps you!
