Hi, I have two poms both purebreed. Just wondering is there any point in sending their papers in? I have them and came across them the other day relizing i hadent yet. I dont plan on breeding them or showing them, they are just my pets. So I dont know if there is any point. Never had purebreed before and just wanted some advice on whether their papers matter or not. Happy Holidays All! IP: Logged |

I can't see any reason to if you will not be doing anything that requires them. If there is the slightest chance you may become interested in doing agility or obedience something along those lines and would want to compete within the registry...maybe then it would be important. I don't know AKC's rules on registry, but I know with horses, the longer you wait to register...the more expensive it gets. It rises every year in huge amounts, so it pays to register right away. That may not be true with dogs ..really not sure. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the reply Maisey. I think your right about the cost, I saw somewhere on the papers that if i didnt regester by a certain date it was more expensive. Thanks again! IP: Logged |
