You guys are all great. Thanks for all the information. For what ever reason the breeder sells his dogs around 6 weeks. We are taking a look at the pups tomorrow & I will ask why not 8 weeks. Also our bichon is 14 lbs & takes up no space on the bed. I don't know about a 75 pounder tho. I have one other question for you guys...we are getting a yellow field lab. Does anyone know the difference between field & english labs & which is the better? Thanks again. IP: Logged |

I don't think there is a diffrence, other than there are hunting labs and home labs, but I doubt there is a diffrence. Good luck with your puppy! 6 weeks is a great age, they begin to adapt to you quicker and learn much more, much faster!!! IP: Logged |

I have heard the term field lab I always thought it meant the dog was bred for hunting/retrieving..I've never heard the term english lab. My guess for why the breeder sells them at 6 weeks would be simply that it saves him money. Which is not a good reason in my opinion. IP: Logged |
