could anyone from england tell me if it is true that if u get a dog from a rescue shelter they dont give u the papers. this is what i have been told by the breeder of my puppy that im waiting for. dont they get spayed if they are in a shelter? in which case she wouldnt of had pups. thanks linzy.

Are you saying that the breeder claims the mother of your puppy is a purebred, papered dog, only he doesn't have the papers because he got her from the shelter? Sounds fishy to me. I suppose it's possible. I'm not from England, so I don't know what the policies are there - here, some shelters spay before the animal leaves and some do not.

Can you call the shelter and ask for background on the dog?
