I feel so bad!
Last night about 3am, my baby started to whine in her crate. I told her "abbey quiet!", she continued, so before she woke th ewhole house up, I went down and let her out, she did a quick pee, and bolted back in. I put her back in crate and went to bed. The whining statyed again, and continued. I did theh Abbey quiet thing, didn't work. I cam down gave her a chew, still whinning. I finally came down a last time to find a big mess in her crate, runny mess at that. I felt so bad! I feel liek she was trying to tell me, and I didn't listen. I feel like I let her down...
Now this is the first time she has never had a runny poo before, an dthis morning she didn't have any more. I did not crate ger today, cause I didn't want her to have to go in her crate. I left her in the ktichen with somepaper down...
How do I know if she is sick?

Thanks!

Aww, that's awful.
You know though, it could just be that she'd been wanting to 'go' since the first time she started whining and got herself in a tiz, so when she finally gave into it it was a runny poo, like a nervous one, and she's fine now. (like us having the runs when we're nervous)
We don't have the patience in the middle of the night to make sure they've done all they need to do when we let them out so I'd just put it down to experience and *hope* that next time she finishes up before running in out of the cold.
Hope she's ok today

Hi All,
Bad news I cam home to a huge mess, it was like the bathroom Fairy had visited my home adn was leaving her magic all over the place!
I have just finished cleaning it up. It seems Abbey is sick, from what I don't know, but she definately has a runny tummy!
I am giving her white rice, just a teaspoon or so, and hopefully that will help.
Any one think I shold take her to a vet, or wait it out till tomorrow?

Any idea's let me know....

Thanks!

Hi, Is she eating and drinking o.k.? has she had all shots needed? I read on here that there was another virus out there like parvo. Not to scare you! Honest! but maybe a vet visit after another day wouldn't hurt...Good luck! and keep us posted...Susan

Why do you put her in a crate?

I'm guessing because she is a puppy and crate training is a great way to go.

HI All,
Thanks for your repsonses. Abbey is doing better. She has not vomitted or had a runny tummy since my last post.
I made an appointment for the vet anyway, for tomorrow. She is still a bit tired, and sucky, but that's okay.
