Maisey - I want to pass along some info you posted about breeding guidlines and what to look for when breeding and have no idea what the thread was. I did a search but came up with nothing. Do you have that handy?

Thanks HOneybear

Morning Honeybear,
I don't think I have ever posted guidlines for breeding. Jas has and I think Goob and maybe Rottymommy. I know there is a really good thread in Pit Bull forum that Goob posted on breeding. Sorry I can't help.

LOL...I have never bred a dog. I grew up watching my aunt and mother do that and I quickly realized how much goes into it. Money, time, heartbreak, money, more money. For them ...dog shows were a part of breeding, and I really hated the shows. I thought many of the people there were full of themselves. The dog world seemed to be much like high school, lots of backstabbing and gossip. I am not saying everyone was like that...just my observation as a teen.
Sorry to disappoint...but I know very little about many things.

but you have always done a great job finding things on peoples questions and then posting them! My husband has a co-worker who is breeding his yellow lab and my husband asked him if he had his eyes checked, hips, contract and I know there are a ton of other stuff and there was a recent post on this that included all this. This guy is clueless. So he then asked him well, you expect to get $400 (saying great hunting dog) and you have no proof in either linage to support this?? He says well he knows how to hunt. my husband said your just a BYB and you should be doing this. But the dog is already pregnant. SO I wanted to send him that.

I do try to find information for people, I like doing it..BUT the breeding thing I try to keep quiet on. It is a topic that infuriates me on so many levels and I am not very diplomatic, I say what I think and I tend to be blunt. So I prefer to leave that topic to Goob, RottyMommy, Jas and anyone else who has the ability to dress things up and convey the information in a way that is polite and educational.
Here is a link to the post I read on this site about breeding that I thought was very good. http://www.auspet.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000230.html
