I just found out today that my best friend just went out and bought me a cockapoo. I did some reading up on them and they are adorable! they are also like $500! but, i don't want a large dog, i want one that i can carry around in a dog tote, and that can hang out in my shop (of course it could do that even if it was big) it sounds like the right idea for my shop because they are good with other dogs, but just how big do they get? there are like 3 or 4 sizes, but if i find out how big the parents are, how do i take their weight and determine my new baby's weight?

6 months is what I have heard, till they have all their shots. I used to have a black cockerpoo when I was a kid. he was probably around 15 to twenty lbs. I am not certain though. He was the dog I named my current Rufus after. He went everywhere with us and even chased off a german shepard that was after my sister. He would run my grandmas lab mix back to his yard when my sister wanted to let her rabbit run free. He was such a good dog. Sneaky boy. He was so used to going everywhere with us. But on school days he couldn't of course. He would start to follow us, then we would tell him to go home. He would duck into a driveway, watch us walk a bit, then continue to the next driveway hide and watch. We knew he was doing this. We would have to go get him and take him home. He was a funny guy.

Some say that puppies should have all their shots before going out, which is around 16 weeks. But I also know that it is important to socialize before then!

I would consult with your vet about that. Six months seems very excessive.

As far as size goes, I would think the pup would be about the same size as the parents. If you can contact the breeder, you can also ask if there are grown pups from the same parents.
