Hi, I've got a question about my 8 year old poodle that i adopted 7 months ago from a shelter. When she is laying down somewhere and then gets up, she sometimes leaves a wet spot (which i am assuming is urine). She usually does this on her bed in the kitchen but sometimes, when she is sleeping with me at night, she leaves wet spots on my bed. She is always very good about going to the bathroom outside and this only happens when she is laying down somewhere. Could anyone tell me what could be causing this and what I should do? Thanks a lot!

It sounds like she has urinary incontinence.
I beleive there are medications that can help control this problem.

Here is a link with further information: http://www.vet4petz.com/articles/urinary_incontinence.htm

I'm with Nern on this one. Talk to her vet. I also have a rescued poodle. They are great.

more than likely an overactive bladder, older dogs tend to get this problem.

I was waiting for 'age' to show up here! Just noticed this w/ our Tyson - he's 8. Seems to 'drip' sometimes but not all the time...when he's lying around especially. Anyone else experience this with older dogs?
