My lab, Ralphie, has been pacing around the house many nights, for about 30 minutes, seemingly confused. He does not respond to my talking to him, trying to get him to lie down, etc. He paces, looks around constantly, seems agitated. He was diagnosed with Lyme disease a couple of months ago and was treated with antibiotics and shots. Could Lyme be the cause of his nighttime sleeplessness?

I don't know much about this disease, but I found a couple links for you to articles I think would be good for your to read.
http://www.petalk.com/lyme-disease.html
http://www.thevet.com/yourdog.htm
http://www.ento.psu.edu/Lyme/lymedogs.htm

That first link...if you read all the way down, talks about why you and other family members should be tested as well. I learned some stuff I didn't know about the vaccines, thanks for making me think about it.

Just an after thought...in what I read it did say that not all treatments are successful. Although restlessness wasn't one of the listed symptoms, joint pain was, if he is in pain I could see why he would seem agitated and not answer to you. Has he been back for a check up since treatment?

Does he only do this at certain times? if so, that's strange! I mean if he acts normal all day and then at night, he has this behavior. Is it possible that he hears something at night that's bothering him? Strange! Maybe you should have him checked out by the vet, if he continues in that way.

And of coarse listen to Maisey, she has always givin me good advise.
