Shawn and I took Dooley and Witt to the Portland International Raceway tonight for the Winter Wonderland Lites Display. We walked two miles looking at light displays, some even animated. It was magical! It was a cold crisp clear night and no rain! I guess every year they do this, they have one night where people can bring their dogs and walk through. The rest of the time you have to drive through in your vehicle. We got bags filled with treats and Shawn was given a whole box of dog bones.
Poor Dooley..this was the first time he has been out in weeks and he was so excited he could hardly contain himself. To make matters worse, we met members of our flyball team there and all went together...he knows his flyball captain and all the dogs and he "talked" the whole way through NONSTOP. Groan and moan and grumble..beg and beg, confused whimpers, excited wiggles...the poor guy was wondering how far he had to walk to get to the flyball lanes! When we went back to the truck he starred at us like we were nuts. He won't get to do flyball until January some time...at leaste I know he hasn't forgotten. Anyhow it was a wonderful evening of walking and gazing at festive holiday lights. I recommmend all of you try to find events like these in your own area, they are just so fun.

WOW sounds like a fun eve. glad to hear Dooly is on the mend. He misses his buddies. I wish we had something like that here. They used to let us go into the mall and have pictures taken with Santa one night, but they remodeled it last year so I dont think they still do it. but it was fund to see all dogs some dressed up for the holidays

UGHHH! This morning both Witt and Dooley were throwing up in the backyard, it has to be the treats they got last night. Me thinks they have become accustomed to quality foods and treats! Atta Boy was a sponsor of the event so all the treats were from them. I looked at the ingredients this morning.......ACKKK! I think I will drop them off at a shelter on my way to work today. I don't know what they feed there but since alot of it is donated I am sure the dogs will appreciate some treats.

Sounds like fun Maisey! Sure wish we had warm enough weather to even think about doing something like that . Hehe, no it's not that bad. It's certainly winter here in NY though. 5 inches of snow and 20 degree F woohoo!

Glad to hear Dooley is able to start enjoying being out again.
