some stuff happen to my cat too, but here is what happen to my dog over the weekend. the rest is post on the cat forum.

oh yeah and another thing these people did... get this they left my dog in her crate for over 14 hours!!! 14 hours with no food water or bathroom break. so needless to say she went to the restroom right in her cage. and they didnt even clean it up!! they just left it there for me to clean up when i got home. ahhh what were they thinking. i might not have children, but you know what. these animals are my babies. you know. they are like my kids. and uh i am just so upset. you know. i dont know what to do. i just needed to get that out. you know. uh.

I can't believe they did that to your babies! I completely understand how you feel right now. Did this happen at a kennel? My mother took our family dog to a kennel and he's so cute and friendly, but the kennel decided that he should just stay in the crate and pee in it also! In addition to that they didn't give him enough water, i guess they figure that way they won't have to take him out to pee. When we went to pick him up he was shaking all over and even now, 7 months after the event, whenever my parents walk towards the front door he starts to cry--he NEVER used to do that before, he'd just go to his little pillow and fall asleep when we left. He still shakes for no reason as a result of the kennel.

Sorry for the long email, but I just wanted to tell you that I understand what you're going through. My parents and I were very upset and now my parents do not entrust our dog with anyone, not even for 5 minutes!

I hope your babies are ok. Did you check them to make sure they weren't abused or harmed while they were in the crate?

Thanks for replying. they work nights and didnt have time to take her out until the next morning. so other than the fact that she was forced to go to the bathroom in the crate, she was fine. she was just totally missing me, you know. but that wasnt nearly as bad as what happen to my cat.
He likes to get out and while i was gone he escaped and a little more than the tip of tail is MISSING!!! they didnt even tell me about my cat getting out when i would call to check up on my babies!! and when i come home and this cat walks by with half a tail and my apartment smell horrible i am like WHAT HAPPENED!!! they kinda laughed it off, you know, there not big animal people so they didnt really see the problem. uhhh. what ever. but hey thanks for listening!! lotty and trikedog

Ugh! I'm so sorry!

I know just what you mean about people who are not animal people. I just can't identify with them at all. They just sort of shrug and laugh and I want to smack them.

We have a heck of a time finding someone to take care of our mice when we are gone. Usually people understand at least a little bit how important cats and dogs are, but mice....no chance. I am so afraid they will forget and leave a bedroom door open and then the cats will eat the mice and they will shurg and say, "Oh sorry" and that will be that.

14 hours!!! Oh my goodness!!! Sorry but I would have turned them in for animal cruelty. Then beat their butts for such an ignorant act!

you trusted them to take care of your animals and they did that! Oh that just pisses me off!

That is so sad. You have a person that says they can perform a task. and you come back and may as well of left him there with a two year old. Aweful. What was the aweful smell, their feces or the piece of tail rotting, I wonder. I hope poor kitty is alright.

I think the cat is ok, they said they took him to a vet (right!??!...) but i am taking jack today just to make sure. (they didnt give me a vet bill or any proof, so you know, like how do i know) rather be safe than sorry. he needs a check up anyways.

As for the smell. Well lets just say it wasnt pretty! i nearly wanted to throw up! i have spent the last few days cleaning and recleaning the crate. and sprayying as much as freshner as i can. That is one thing i hate the most is a bad smell. and i am very very picky about my animals they can NOT go to the bathroom in the house, but if an accident happens, i swear i rope off the area!!! the rug is treated etc etc etc. lets just say i clean my house (or desecent my house) almost every day!!

oh yeh one more thing about my house...my litter box was so gross ( i know this should go in the cat post, but it kinda fits the topic of smell) overflowing gross. and i have a super special way of cleaning the box. i have the bags so its not that hard, all you do is that the dirty on out place a new clean one in and then put some baking soda and kitty litter, no big deal. but they didnt do that...they didnt even scoop once. that was a big factor on the smell thing. oh well, i know better now!

Hi, You learned a lesson "THE HARD WAY" Poor animals!!!!! I am very picky, who I leave my dogs with, they have to love animals, as much, as I do. I would have been soooooooo angry, with these people. I know you said, they work at night, but that's no excuse! If your dog had been taken out to go, before they left, there shouldn't have been a problem. Plus! they could have at least, cleaned his kennel out, each time he "went" in it...I'm so mad!!!! reading this...I hope they dont own any animals, they don't deserve them! Did you let them "have it" I hope!!!! Give them each a pat for me, Hope they get over the trauma soon...Sincerely, Susan
