****Members: Once again we ask you to re-read your post before sending. There have been quite a few hostile posts lately. If you truly wish to help someone *Educate* them instead of chastising them with unkind posts. It's ok to ask if you don't understand but find out first rather than assume the worst. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion in a response, that is what makes this forum so interesting but all opinions MUST be posted in a tactful manner or they will be removed or edited. The same goes for anyone posting a new topic - POST WITH CARE and clarity to avoid misunderstandings and explain carefully what you mean to avoid misinterpretation. * I would like to remind everyone to please stay on topic. If a post is off topic it will likely be removed. * Watch your language - there is to be no abusive language here * No Bashing * No Spam or Advertising Offending posts will be removed or edited and offenders may be banned from the Auspet Forums. If there is anything you wish to add, ask or address please do. Thank you IP: Logged |

Hi Jas, just wondering! It is o.k. to chat when someone is upset about the loss of a pet, right? or if they are nervouse about something going on with thier pet. This may seem ignorant, i just want to be sure, I'm using this site as intended...Thanks! Susan IP: Logged |

Hi Susan, it is absolutely okay to discuss what you've mentioned -- and most pet topics are just fine as long as its within the posting guidelines. When things get right off topic or personal (non-pet personal) we may need to put on our moderator hats You're not being ignorant at all, just considerate! Thank you! Jas IP: Logged |

Jas, I really enjoy this site and it's a great way to share information. My question is this. You requested that we email individuals rather than post a personal request, however, the profiles do not include the email address. I have my email on my profile but it does not show when you click the profile icon, it states "Not Available. I would like to contact Samsintentions in Columbus TX to see if they can help me find a country home for a beautiful dog I am currently caring for but needs a lot more room than I can offer. I think Jas means that when people get upset there are things said that some people dont like that causes nasty confrontations and wording that is offensive. ie lets say I keep my dog chained up all the time (just an example not true) and I dont think there is any thing wrong with it and I post this. This will get the fur flying here and you can bet there will a lot of hostile posts. (which should be avoided) on occasion these posts posts that are unacceptable and that person should not be on this board. Instead of making a nasty confrontation just say something like " we are all freindly here and take your posts elsewhere" Or I have a business and I come hear to advertise or if I want to buy and sell a dog. That is a no-no. Am I on the right track Jas? Honeybear IP: Logged |

Hi guys, yes, Honeybear is on the right track. Basically anything that is not DOG related should be discussed elsewhere. Say for example there is an issue you have with another member and want to discuss this, it would be better if this was discussed privately via email or go to chat room if you prefer. There is also the General forum which I am sure is fine for non dog topics. Member's email addresses aren't made public because of spammers and such, if you wish to exchange them in a post that is fine (it can be deleted or edited out later if preferred) and it is wise to be careful when giving out your email addy. Sometimes some threads become very long and very off topic and the dog forums are busy - that's all. thanks IP: Logged |
