What a complete sweetie!! Gosh, I hope he is doing OK. A question. Are you still adopting him out or have you decided to kepp the little guy? Either way, someone is going to be incredibly lucky.

I am seriously thinking of keeping him, i know that my cousin will be good to him to, and will baby him ALMOST as much as i do, but lives about an hour away from me and i want to be able to visit a whole lot, so i am almost 90% sure i am keeping him! i just don't know what to do because my babies (ringo and forrest, also in the pics) are very jealous, but they love him, i just don't know if they will be able to adjust to him being here full time. Ringo is the only one i worry about, he is a big marshmallow, and i have noticed him staying outside much more than usual, almost as if he is hurt by brutus being in my lap constanly, i tried to give them all equal love, but it is really hard since brutus was sick, but brutus wouldn't be in my lap constantly when he is 100% better got any suggestions to help my babies adjust better?

thanks everyone! i will have to tell my babies all the complements they got! I would love to see some pictures of some other peoples dogs too! i love seeing new dog's faces, every one is so unique and beautiful! lol i do believe if i lived on a farm, instead of cattle, i would have to raise dogs, (no breeding allowed of course!) i would just love a huge peice of land to put pound animals in! my heart goes out to those animals, i look at how i baby my dogs, and then i see how the animals at the pound have it and it sometimes makes me sick just thinking about it

I know what you mean about homeless animals. It breaks my heart everytime I see one. I'm like you, I wish I could take everyone in! I hate it. I'm sorry, I didn't see the other two pics you had in there. I thought there was only one. Your other dogs are sweeties too! What a full household you are going to have when Brutus gets back! I'm sure in time your other dogs will get used to him. It is just going to take time and patience. Your house already has his scent so they are used to his smell, that's one plus. Were they fighting at all? How did they express their jealousy??

they expressed their jealousy by staring almost in a hateful way, and sometimes growling, only twice though, he tried to snuggle with ringo, and i guess it was an invasion of his space! Forrest puts up with it all though, he was the first dog in the house, and he knows his p he cannot, and wil not be replaced, he loved playing with brutus, and i loved seeing them play(while brutus was well) As for ringo, i can understand his worry of being replaced, my grandparents found him in one of their fields beaten to a pulp, and we think it was by a man because on the back of his leg som hair was missing, and it looked like he had been beaten repeatedly with a shoe, for a while you couldn't pick him up, or carry shoes around him. so i can see his fear. He would NEVER hurt brutus, because he himself is a big baby, and the most i have ever seen him do is growl, and never at a human, the most agressive thing he had ever done towards a human is lick them lol

Then I think in time Ringo will accept Brutus. After he has been there awhile, maybe Ringo won't feel as threatened. Also it will take a little bit of time for Brutus to figure out your other two dogs and their "space". I don't know. From what you've said it doesn't look like it will be too much of a problem.

hi Daphne,

What kinda puppy is your cousin holding? Is it a Boxer?
As far as the jelousy thing goes; you did mention that there have been some growls heard already. This may be nothing to be worried about, BUT it can be a sign for things to come. Who ever is showing jelousy & growling at your puppy, is most likly the more dominant dog amongst the 2 that you originally had. And, it's b a r e l y showing signs of dominancy towards the new comer (your pup). If it is a Boxer pup, & as it grows inot a young adult, you M A Y notice the growling becomming more frequent, and more serious. This is because your Boxer knows it's bigger, and may challenge the original dominant dog for it's position in the pack. And believe me, the original dominant dog will not want to give his place up, and will fight for it. That's a whole nother issue, that you might want to understand to help make this new edition to the family smoother. Just read up on it, if you start seeing any signs of the "pecking order".
I hope i did'nt spoil your fun, just thought i'd bring that up. Because it can come up in their future.

Anyhow, your dogs/pup is adorable, Good-Luck .
