Hey! I was driving home and was thinking about this, lol. How did you come up with Nala for for your Nala? My boyfriend and I were going to go with Lexie and were sitting around talking about it when he was like what about Nala? We both watched the Lion King many times and it is one of out favorites and I thought it was cute and sounded nice! So.... I was just wondering about your baby Nala too! IP: Logged |

Actually, it was the name given to her at the shelter. We almost changed it to Tasha, but my son's very favorite movie of all time is Lion King. He was 2 when it came out and we spent about 3 years of ours lives immersed in the Lion King. And she was so mouthy, we decided she was very much like a baby lion! I am amazed at the number of people who don't get the connection, though.

I named my dog Nellie after the rap singer, Nelly. IP: Logged |

Yes it is weird how people dont get the connection. When I told my mom we named her that she was like "Na-La" I corrected her with the right to say it, but it suprised me how her and a few other people dont get it. Some people are like "oh thats cute" but they really dont get it until I say "yeah from the Lion King". But I love it and she loves it so thats all that matters....right! IP: Logged |

I was wondering how there could be 2 Nalas on the board. I havnt seen the lion king in years, and I dont have kids so I would never have made the connection. I do love the name - I think it is unusual. We named our lab Jake - I never knew a dog named Jake then when we took him for a walk I ran into 3 yellow labs named Jake! Honeybear IP: Logged |
