Hello All, we have a 5 1/2 month old shih tzu, and she seems almost housetrained, as she goes 5 out of 6 bathroom breaks outside, but it seems almost daily she has an accident. Does this mean she is not trained? Or is she? I heard from someone that she may be trying to show me that yes she will listen and go outside, but she is trying to show some kind of authority by doing it in the house, almost like saying, hey you are not the total boss of me! Does this make sense to any one? Thanks! ------------------ IP: Logged |

I don't think she is doing it to show you who's boss, it's more likely what you said, an accident, if she's doing it outside 5 times out of 6 then I would say she's well on her way to being house-trained and that the one time she's doing it in the house just means she can't get outside quick enough. Give her time as she's nearly fully house-trained, I would say she will get it right soon. IP: Logged |
