2 DAYS AGO MY DOG WAS LIMPING, & 1 DAY AGO HIS FRONT TWO LEGS STOPPED WORKING. NOW, THE ONLY LEG THAT IS WORKING IS HIS BACK RIGHT LEG. HE IS A PUG AND 8 YRS OLD. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE CAUSE OF THIS... WHETHER ITS BECAUSE OF OLD AGE OR THE COLD WEATHER THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON?? IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT I SHOULD DO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANX IP: Logged |

He may have arthritis and simply "chooses" not to walk as it is so painful. I know it's a bit scary but my aunties pug did the same thing although not quite as sudden. I would take him to see the vet and find out for sure. Good luck ![]() IP: Logged |

hi Gingeralepnay, I really don't have a "solid" clue as to what might be his problem. But, this is something that needs to be seen by a veterinarian ASAP. It could be something kinda minor, but if it's major (& it does sound MAJOR), the sooner you take him in, the better chances of recovery will be. Good-Luck, IP: Logged |

No question...get to a vet. A pugs life span is something like 12-15 years so 8 years old puts him at about midlife. Either way, a sudden lameness such as you described doesn't sound like arthritis to me, arthritis is progressive, debilitating yes, but not instantly like that. He could be in a great deal of pain and the sooner you get attention the more likely a good recovery is. IP: Logged |
