Hi! I, since cindygirlb is my little girl she begged me not to tell you the breed because she wants to come on here and announce it. She is such a cutie.

Anyway, the puppy is adorable. It is a 10 week old smaller breed dog and it was quite nervous when we got it at the breeder, but now it is calming down quite a bit and is sooo cute. What I have noticed though about it is its stools are kind of loose. Not total diareah (sorry if tmi)because there is a form to the stools, just quite soft. Then about 10 minutes ago after I gave it a puppy bisquit ( the same onethat I had given it a few hours ago and did fine), it ate it quickly, but then 10 minutes later it started heaving and threw it up. Just the bisquit.

Do you think it is nerves causing this? Because he ate puppy food a few hours ago and did just fine. I have to say that I wasnt too impressed with the breeder. Rock music was blaring throught the kennel in what I would say was offensive to all the puppy ears.

He has been in business for 9 years and is considered in our area to be very reputable.

He said he only takes the animals out once a day, in the morning. Does that sound right? It doesnt sound fair to me. WHen I poured the puppy food for him around 11 am today he went at it so ravenous that it looked like he hadnt eaten for a year. He looks on the thin side too. But he is adorable and energetic to boot. Do the loose stools and minor vomiting of the bisquit sound problematic or just typical for a nervous puppy? Thanks so much! I was going to take him to the vet next week. Ann

A puppy's stomach is very sensitive when they have just been weaned, I would say that the biscuit didn't agree with him but I wouldn't feel bad.

Usually I feed my pups pedigree puppy food as it's mushy and digests well in their tummy, it's also well known that pups eat like pigs and he might have just ate to quickly and didn't chew properly. He sounds completely normal.

As for the breeder he DOSEN'T sound normal, all dogs need more exercise than once a day if they are in kennels, (are they?) LOL

Anyway congrats on your new addition and I'm sure with a vet check he will be just fine! Make sure his worming and vaccinations are kept up to date too, Good luck!

I dont think rock music playing at a breeder is a reason to not buy a puppy there do you? Also, he has a great reputation with many people I have talked to who are/or know someone who is extremely happy with him. My husband and I got lost in the area and stopped for directions over and over and everyone heard of the guy and knew someone who had gotten an animal from him.

He kept telling me how the puppy is guranteed a year and if for any reason it gets sic during the year to send him the bill and he will pay for it. He says he is the only one who does this that he knows of, most breeders gurantee a year for genetics... not getting sick. He said he prides himself on the relationship he has with his customers.

I just found the LOUD music (which I have been known to play in my car a time or two with the windows rolled up LOL) weird as it didnt seem fair to the animals whatsoever, and my own personal taste was that animals should go out more than once. This are my views, yes, but that isnt going to keep me from buying my cute little beagle.

I do business all the time with people I wouldnt want to have afternoon tea with, dont you? LOL Still, I get your point and it is well taken. Ann

Neek,

Thanks for the advice on our puppy's stomach. I think you are exactly right on the money. He probably ate so fast that it just came right back up, plus I never knew their tummies were so sensitive after weaning. Thanks for letting me know.

I have just never seen a puppy eat so ravenous before. He was moving the food bowl all over the place and nearly tipped it over once. LOL It was so cute. Our 10 week old kitten and him are so fascinated with each other. The kitten totally tolerates the dog's non-stop interest in it and the kitten sneaks up and bats at his forever-wagging tail all the time too. They are cute together.

Thanks again for your reply! ann

Our puppy still eats like she has never seen food before, and she is 8 months I think some dogs are just way more into food than others- I know our friend's dog will leave food in his dish all day-- that would never happen with Cameron- she eats it in about 1-2 minutes flat! The case with your puppy could be worms, though- it makes them hungry all the time because the worms digest the food in their stomach instead of the puppy digesting it him or herself. Many puppies are born with worms, it's very common but your first vet visit to deworm the pup should take care of everything! Best of luck
