I just bought a new bag of Innova and it looks more condensed. The kibble is smoother looking. If you could see the difference you would understand. I also noticed that it soulds much more crunchier. Maybe they smooshed it even more to make it scrape the teeth more. I totally notice the extra crunchiness though. Sounds like I don't have anything else to do huh. The bag is not expired. It expires nov. 2004. My dogs still love it. I did not notice anything different on the bag.
Here is Rufus from the side you can see why I think he may be part border collie

He does have border collie in him. Quite a bit actually from the ear shape to the colour of his coat and obviously his long hair. He is a beatiful looking dog.

Puttin...they recently got their own manufacturing plant and I think that may have something to do with it. When I went to pick up some Innova cans for my mother this past weekend the feed store owner was almost out of it and he told me it was due to them getting the new plant.

Ah, that explains it then. They must have some nice new machines too. My step mother always say that I notice everything. Isn't that an odd thing to notice. Honestly it is crunchier. I think thats a good thing though for their teeth. I just got the bag last saturday.

You know I truly do think he has border coliie in him too. He is smaller though. I have seen some bd's that are just a bit bigger than him. But he does have that terrier face. His neck and chect hair really call out border collie actually everything from the ears and back. He is a bright boy. Thanks for the compliments!!

hi Puttin510,

Rufus is adorable. He has beautiful markings.
You know what, i've also been thinking that. A couple days ago in a row i would think that too. I'm currently also feeding Innova Dog, & yeah the bag does seem pretty much the same. But your right...LOL! I was also thinking to myself, "hmmmm, the kibble looks a little rounder now, but probably it was just this batch". I was also thinking "wow, is my dog having a hard time eating Innova, it sounds like he's having trouble crunching it (my Pei)"..?
To read your post now, makes me think that i was'nt the only one who thought this, funny.
I'm also finishing up a bag of their treats, & this too is in a different texture. The previous bags i bought were a lot crunchier, as far as "crunching" (like cookies or biscuits). The bag we're finishing off is like cracking in my Pei's mouth. I even have a hard time breaking it in half. It basically snaps, instead of it easily breaking off. It still smells & looks freash though, like the others. It's like it stale or something, i don't really know. I know a couple days my Pei refused to eat it. That let me know that it definatly was'nt the same. Possibly it was just an old batch or something...?
When i used to feed my dogs Chicken Soup (dry), i noticed 1 time that i bought a REALLY freash bag. It's color was like a warm red, kinda like mohagany & burgandy looking, while the other bags i bought were like brownish/pale-ish. This let me know how it 'should' look like. It smelled freasher than the others too.
Ohh yeah, your not the only one, i inspect pretty much e v e r y t h i n g too... .
I LOVE IT!

With this new bag the kibble is smoother , flatter and a tad bit bigger than the other stuff. It looks to be bighter in color too. I think I will email Innova and ask them.
