Yesterday we took Dooley to PetsMart, mostly just to get him out of the house and stimulate his mind a little. When we walked in we were immediately approached by a dog food rep for a new dog food. My husband winced a little knowing that I think the foods PetsMart sells are low quality foods(JMO). Well I looked the product over and I have to say...wow! Not too bad. I'm not changing my dogs off the food I am feeding them now, I've been very thrilled with the results of the raw diet I am feeding so far, but it is definately a step in the right direction for PetsMart. I didn't really delve into the food and check it out thoroughly, the rep asked what I fed and said that the vet who developed this food was a holistic vet who supported raw feeding. At a glance it looked like it might be ok for some dogs with allergies even. They have a twist to their approach...using cold formed bits that contain nutrients and antioxidants, they are saying that when food is baked or heated through processing it degrades the added vitamins and antioxidants by as much as 75%. Because their food has these "Lifesource bits" as they call them, that are cold formed, there is no degradation. Here is the link if you want to check it out: http://www.bluebuff.com/ IP: Logged |

that does sound like a good food. Our petco now carries a few of good foods like natural balance. Hopefully they will cary more. Honeybear IP: Logged |

Wow, that does look nice! It even has oatmeal for good digestibility. I'll have to keep my eyes open next time I go to PetsMart.
