Hopefully someone can help me with this one...

I have a bautiful 6 yr old white standard poodle named Napoleon, He is my constant companion and a terrific dog. I recieved him three years ago when his breeder took him back from an abusive owner and needed something to do with a 3 yr old animal that no one wanted. He quickly recovered from a few of his neurotic problems from being abused and is now a pretty happy dog, although sometimes prone to submissive urination problems if he is approached by a stranger (He is big and white and friendly and cute, so strangers approach him all the time).
His biggest problem is that as an un-castrated male (I want to breed him in the future) he is constantly peeing everywhere (outside) to mark his territory, and often does not raise his leg high enough to pee off to the side and ends up peeing on his front paws. This is a big problem becaouse I have to wash him constantly and he smells. This limits my ability to take him with me to as many places, as there are times he is not welcome because of his smell. Is there anybody who knows how to deal with this?

Gosh, the only male I have is my terrier mix and he raises his leg high. Do you trim off any hair that grows on the end of his penis. I do this and it keeps him from spraying all over. He basically shoots straight with the trim. Being that yours is not neutered he will keep marking like that. I say why not just enjoy him and not breed. If he has some neurotic problems. There are definatley too many dogs with problems out there already. If my poodle was not spayed there would be no way in the world I would breed her with all her problems. The only other thing I can tell you is there are doggie diapers for different sizes of dogs. Maybe this would work for you. Maybe someone else can help.
