We have a 5-year old male labrador that we just bred (to a registered female lab)and are going to get a puppy. We need to decide male or female. The dad has a superb temperment, house dog, very affectionate and very well-loved. Which should we get and is neutering necessary? Appreciate any advice....Thanks! IP: Logged |

Just my 2 cents.... I would get a female (since you already have a male) and yes I think neutering is neccessary. Dogs of the opposite sex seem to be less likely to fight with each other than dogs of the same sex and spayed/neutered dogs seem to be less likely to fight with each other than unaltered dogs. Yep your best bet if you have a male is get a female and vice versa. IP: Logged |
