I have heard many different ages to have a puppy fixed. My puppy is 4 months old this week, and my vet recomended that I bring him in. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best age to have him fixed. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Hi, All vets have a different opinion on best time to nueter or spay i usally wait till my animals are about 6months old before i go ahead with it with bitches i have it done after her first heat cycle.. It's also upto the indiviidual owner what they think is best for there pet. 4months is ok but 6 months i think is safer.. IP: Logged |

Will it traumatize a puppy if it is done too early? Will his temprament completely change? IP: Logged |

My Aussie x was spayed at 4 months old. There was no personality change and she was not traumatized....she came home the next day just as active and happy as she was when she went in.
