I am getting ready to have my Aussie spayed this month and asked my vet for a rundown of the bill. I am just wondering what people have paid, on average for spaying. My vet's price is $308, this includes the surgery and overnight stay, preop bloodwork, and postoperative pain meds. If I want to add $48 to that price for laser surgery, the total would then be $356.00. Does anyone have experience with laser surgery? Is this what is most commonly done now? The incision would be smaller and recovery is supposed to be quicker. I have not had a female spayed in several years and I am just wondering if these prices sound average, and whether or not laser is the way to go and pay the extra $$. Any thoughts or comments on what people have paid for spaying would be appreciated. I imagine these costs can vary greatly depending on location etc. I live in Colorado and I think the prices are higher here than they were in Kansas, which is where we moved from. It cost me about $150.00 to have my aussie x spayed...this included pain meds and overnight stay. Pre-anesthetic blood work was an additional $59.00 but I did not have that done. IP: Logged |

I recently got my dog spayed and paid $169.00. She didn't stay over night i picked her up the same day of the surgery. If she something went wrong during surgery I would of had to pay and extra $42.00. Jody IP: Logged |

Hi i live in the uk so the prices here are a little different, but i found that different practices have different prices some can be more expensive than others but i find paying more is not always best but it's the individual owner that needs to decide which is best for there budget... I paid £120 uk pounds to spay my dog IP: Logged |
