hi, welcome to the boards.
like honeybear said there is some great posts on here about crate training that should be of help..

there is one thing i would like to put can i ask when the pouppy cries during the night do you goto him to reasure him or do you leave him to it..

keep going to the puppy will make his soon realise that when he cries you will goto him and will keep using this to his advantage when he cries as hard as it may be you should leave and let him cry he will stop when he knows your not going to him as going to him will cause a dominance problem where he is the boss before you goto bed you could try giving him a teddy bear or another toy that way if he wakes during the nite he has something to occupy his mind...

keep us posted of his progress and good luck
