Hello, I am the owner of 2 very spoiled dogs, a 4 year old Staffordshire Terrier and a 3 year old Boston Terrier. I am expecting a baby girl October 4th and have already recieved some pretty good tips on introducing them to one another. Here is my main problem...since there is such a weight difference in my dogs I never really felt safe giving them bones, afraid the larger dog would choke on the smaller dog's bone so I gave them stuffed animals instead. BIG MISTAKE because now, we have to keep all of the stuffed toys off the floor of the nursery (there have already been several casualties) Is there ANYTHING I can do so my poor child will be able to play with toys? Please help!!! IP: Logged |

I would consult a dog trainer. I am sure there is a way to train the dogs to know the difference between their toys and the baby's toys. Do they bother your things when they are left around like shoes, purse, etc? If not, how did you train them to leave your things alone? IP: Logged |

You know, I have never had a problem with them chewing my shoes, purse or anything like that. I do have a big problem with them chewing my comforters and blankets though - anything with stuffing inside. They pull the stuffing out of EVERYTHING! IP: Logged |
