As any shampoo, yes it can.. Maybe your dog is allergic to the shampoo.. I know a previous dog I had couldn't use baby shampoo's which in that case I cannot either.. Even just getting it on my hands makes me itchy and rashy looking..

A dog can be allergic to the most expensive dog specific shampoos to the cheapest. Just move on to another brand, till you find what works. Remember to water it down too. They can be allergic to even all natural diets. Just need to find the ingrediant that is bothersome to him.

See if you can find HyLyt shampoo for dogs. It is excellent for sensitive skin and leaves your dogs coat silky smooth, shiny and beautiful. I swear by it. My vet recommended it. However, you can only get this product at specialty pet stores (not Petsmart) or your vet clinic.

I get all sorts of pet product catalogs ranging from bedding, grooming, medication, toys, treats, foods you name it they have it.. I have had the best experiences with anythign by Hartz for shampoos.. however, as we all know.. each dog is different. But that is what has always worked over expensive shampoos... I trust Hartz dog grooming supplies.. they make a puppy formula that is gentle as well.. it is another try.. you can get it just about anywhere. Convenience stores, K Mart, Walmart, anywhere really.. it is purple.. it is cheap... however, of all I have tried.. it seems to be working best. That and an all natural oatmeal shampoo through an herbal store.
