Here are my two dogs one is a poodle. But the other one I'm not certain. I think wire haired JRT-border collie. Whats your guess. Here is a frontal picture and one from the side with my poo in it(you get it).

side view, very much the border collie coloring

Jamyia thank you. Do you think his body looks collie-ish to you.
Fleafly I will try a different picture. I tried to post a link but am having problems with that. Sorry if I screw up.

I don't know about that, though it is always a possibility. There are a couple of shelties around here, one tri-color and one sable and their coats are much longer and thicker. The tri colored one is geougous. Rufus, his coat is very much like the border collie in length color and he also gets the undercoat. His hair gets very thick and has to be brushed out to thin it. As for that face, terrier. I'm still stuck on JRT- Border collie. He is about 24 lbs. You all should see this boy run. He runs and jumps like a gazelle(so to speak) you can tell that just the running in itself is what he loves. Watching him is just so interesting to me. I let him out back and just goes, its almost like watching a horse run thru a meadow. If you know what I mean. Enough of that.

Shelties also have fur that needs to be brushed to be thinned out.. however, where it is a mix breed, the length of the coat could be shorter than that of a Sheltie, becaue it has some of both breeds in it.. I have had Border's and (It is very possible) but from pictures I do not see it really. I find more of a sheltie look to it.. Cute dog either way.. doesn't it suck when you can't figure that stuff out. I got a dog from the shelter which they say was shepherd/lab.. NO WAY !!! I know for sure without a doubt in my mind that it was shepherd/dobie.. Everyone told me no no the shelter know what they are talking about.. Some how at the vet one day a lady came in with a cat.. her eye filled up and she said OMG do you mind if I pet your dog? I said sure but she is a little excited.. she then told me how she had one just like it and had to give it up to the shelter because her three children all under eight years old were playing in her yard when a strange man stopped and started talking and when he got out.. Kacey attacked the man.. I said.. wait.. the dogs name was Kacey and it went to the shelter.. (same shelter I got her from) she told me when and came to find out.. it was her previous dog.. Strange how small the world is.. I asked her how old Kacey was and the breed. Her and her children would visit every Sunday and during the week or anytime I was in the area, I would bring Kacey by.. it was a great life for Kacey until she died of liver failure.. she was only a year and a half. Just had to share that.. I want to also note that you ought to look into the traits and characteristics of each dog and match it with yours to see what fits best.
