Okay I know this sounds ridiculous and I have no clue what to make of it.. In the past two weeks we have been cleaning the place non stop trying to find somethign unusual.. only thing we can figure is the dogs pee that has stained our carpets and has got an unreal stench in the place now is attracting this. These flies are identicle to fleas with wings.. same color, same size. But I don't recall ever seeing a flea with wings.. they jump like fleas and are just like a flea only they have wings and can fly. Any ideas what this is?? Angie IP: Logged |

No, fleas don't fly, and are blood eaters, rather than rotten stuff eaters (the urine is causing rot in whatever surface it's in). What you're seeing is fruit flys. I know that sounds crazy, that they should only be in fruit, but they are actually rot eaters. They feed off the bacteria that grow in rotten fruit, veggies, chicken soup you forgot was sitting on the bookshelf for a week, wet moldy anything. IP: Logged |

Shade-- thanks for the info.. I thought they wre fruit flies as well, but fiancee said they weren't. A lot of people for no reason are having issues with these bugs. I asked around, department stores every where. See my opinion is they are starting in the pail we have for retunable cans and bottles. Or the trash can. But, we even decided to keep both outside to try to see if it calms down and it doesn't. Only thing I can figure is the pups hauled off something because we have searched everywhere and cannot find anything. I will look through the info on the links you provided.. thanks for the response.. I appreciate it.. Angie IP: Logged |
