My Italian Greyhound (9 months) was attacked by my cat- who has four week old kittens. Do you think this aggression will pass when she weans her kittens & they get older?

Also, can dogs get cat scratch disease?
Thanks for any advice!

My mother-in-law's cat had kittens at christmas time. We went up there for two weeks on holidays and took our two dogs with us. My dogs, not knowing what is right from wrong, wondered over to where the cat had left the kittens, well this cat had lashed out at my poor dog and she absoltely sh*t herself. We were only up there a week, and every time she would go near them this cat would go basurk at my dogs. By the end of the week they were friends, but she was still very wary about my dogs going near her kittens. By the end of the two weeks she didn't care as my dogs would go and give her kittens a bath (lick them to death), and this didn't phase her one bit.

So Yes I think that your cats aggression will pass eventually.

As for scratch disease, I can't help you with that.
