I take it all three are Huskies? I have heard of this but not sure about how to answer because it all has to do with being the alpha and I only have two Huskies that get along great. There is this great website I go to about Huskies.... www.everythinghusky.com
Since everyone there at the messageboard owns huskies, they might be able to help. I go there to read the board or get advice. All the people there are great. I highly recommend it for Husky owners since our breed is so unique. Good luck!

I am assuming your pup is a husky, is that right? Three can be a tough number until pack order is established, which is what your older huskies are trying to do. I hope you are keeping them separated from your pup when you are gone. I would try to not let your puppy be constantly harrassed, but again- this pecking order behavior is very normal with Huskies- you just want to make sure your older ones do no harm, understand your limits, and as your pup gets a little older and stronger he or she will learn it's rank among the group. Huskies have strong communication skills among themselves, but can be somewhat stubbon and independent I have found when training them. They need a lot of activity to keep them out of trouble. But in a group, they all have different personalities than can come out and it is interesting to see that develop. Being a 3rd wheel for your pup means it will take some time to gain any respect or entitlement to anything, and you can guide that process, help your dogs learn respect and tolerance, but you cannot really control where your dog ends up in rank. Do you have an activity that you do with your huskies such as sledding or pulling? Finding something they can do together as a team will help, each will have their own strength and personality and will give your pup some confidence among the adults. Try to reinforce the good behavior when they are together and give plenty of attention and rewards for acting nice, avoid jealous confrontations- they can be possessive, protective and everything in between. My 16 year old husky has always been possessive about food and bones with other animals, so be careful- watch your pup and supervise closely. My husky was also much more aggressive towards females, submissive with males. They are all so different. It takes time, A LOT of training, a lot of observation and learning each personality, patience, and work, as you well know by now! I sledded with huskies for several years- I would look into that (if you haven't already) if you live in an area that has it. Have fun, too-

Great advice Jeminn! You've had your fill of Huskies over the years. We are thinking of getting another Husky next year. I printed out your advice to keep so that when we do get our dog, we can use it.

Thanks Karrisue- I copied that webpage you mentioned as well, it looks interesting. Do you have pics to share of your huskies? They are loads of fun, aren't they? I got an Austrialian Shepherd this summer and it is so funny to hear a real dog "bark" again after 16 years of howling! They get along pretty well, but my husky definetely put that pup in her place in the beginning!
Good luck- and share some pics if you have any. I have to figure out how to post them myself.

I wish I could share pics of my dogs.. they are so beautiful and such great dogs! Love them to death! But I don't have any idea how to do the internet/picture thing! I have a dark red and white male named Brute (for a reason! He is literally a brute! But with the sweetest personality!) and I have a grey and white female named Bailey who considers herself the alpha but Brute is such a laid back dog he doesn't care half of the time - he ignores her! Since they don't look a thing alike it is hard to believe they are brother and sister! They get along great with each other except for their dailey squabbles over bones and toys... Sometimes it feels like I have three year olds!
