I don't fly...but a friend sent me this info and I thought maybe some of you would find it interesting.

FYI for those of you who may need to or want to travel with your pets. This is a new airline for pets & their owners so they can travel together in the cabin - Go to www.companionair.com for more info.

Here is an excerpt from the website about the airline:

Companion Air is the first airline created specifically for pets and their owners. We fly very safe and reliable jet-prop aircraft so that we can operate out of small local airports, fly high and fast, and provide a roomy, executive class interior. The use of more, smaller aircraft allow us to provide services much more broadly and at a more reasonable cost. During peak times we may supplement our fleet but the Companion Air fleet is comprised of new aircraft purchased and configured for Companion Air, our pets and owners.

Small airports allow us to operate on time and allow our passengers to spend 15 minutes at the airport instead of hours resulting in less stress.

Our routing concept is one of "flex scheduling". That is, we seek advanced notice and flexibility of travel dates from our customers so that we can optimize the use of our aircraft while satisfying the travel needs for our passengers, human and pet, while keeping our operating costs as low as possible. Sometimes you may have to travel through one of our hubs or make a stop along the way to pick up or drop off a passenger. Our routing minimizes stops but passenger loads and locations sometimes make stops necessary. Our hubs are comfortable and designed for pets and their families with TVs (sport, CNN, and the animal planet) and refreshments. They are climate controlled of course. And if you have to make an intermediate stop, remember that our ground times are minutes in most cases.

Snacks or catered lunches are provided on all of our flights. Ask our reservations folks what is available for your flight. Your electronic ticket receipt will also show what you can expect on board. We have outfitted each aircraft with pet related reading materials and other items of interest. If there is anything you would like to see on board to make your trip more enjoyable or entertaining, please let us know.

While in flight, we try to accommodate those pets who would like to see their owners. Generally, pets are allowed in the cabin one at a time only and for a limited time so others can visit as well. Please cooperate with our Companion Air on board host. Pets are never allowed loose during take off, landing, or turbulence. Depending on the pets on board and their temperaments, pets may not be allowed in the cabin. Visit decisions for any given flight are solely at the discretion of the cabin attendant. If pets can't come see you, you can of course always visit them since you will be in the cabin together.

I heard of this airline and it is great--- if you can afford it. The flights are really expensive.
