um, my maltese (snowball)is about 8 years old, and when i was giving her a bath today, i noticed these weird little red things on her skin. No big deal, it just looked like it does when you shave your skin too close...well, i gently squeezed at one to see if it was a cut, it got all red and i thought it was bleeding, but when i touched it, no blood was on my finger. She has three altogether on her back and her sides. can anyone help me??? IP: Logged |

There are many types of skin problems. Is the area irritated at all or just red. Maybe ringworm perhaps. If it is irritated it could be either mange, fleabites. When a flea bites my dog, he usually irritates the area and brings the blood just under the skin and there is usually no blatant bite or bump from the flea. You know how on a human we get a bump. Well on him he scrathes and makes what looks kind of like a red bruise. Hopefully we will get some more advise in a bit. IP: Logged |
