Everyone keeps talking about ear infections. I was wondering how you know if your dog has an ear infection? Any symptoms to look out for? Thanks IP: Logged |

In a dog with a bad infection there may be some crusty stuff coming out. And yes they may be very flushed and red in color. Another tell tale sign is a bad smell coming from their ears. Is your dog having any problems? Shaking their head and scratching the ear as Honeybear said. Just keep up with the thornit powerder. If some reason Angels ears get a bit red put it in for about 4 days in a row. I now use it only twice a month. Don't forget to give the ear canal a good cleaning with an liquid ear cleaner maybe twice monthly to clear out any remaining powder. You don't want a buildup of powder. Too much powder can cause deafness in dogs. How are her ears doing? IP: Logged |

She scratches her ears really bad and shakes her head. The hair on the ears are lighter cause of the scratching. I know I need to pluck her ear hairs, so maybe that is the problem. But she has done this for a couple months now. I havent used the powder alot because I wasnt sure if it was okay. I'll put it in here ears tonight and keep it up for a few days. IP: Logged |
