Dear Fellow Members, I am returning to you for some additional help. My puppy had diarrea this morning. So I just fed him dry food and figured that would help. He went again this afternoon again loose with a little bit of blood. Gave him some white rice tonight with can food since he would not eat the rice alone. He went again a little more solid tonight and then there was a little blood as well. But the blood does not seem to be in the stool. Is this normal? He has been chewing rawhides but I did not see him break off a big piece and chew it. So I do not think that is the culprit. Any light you can shed on this subject would be much appreciated. Dear Fellow Members. Thanks for your responses. The blood is bright red. He went again this morning. The same way a little bit solid and bright red blood about the size of a dime. I was thinking he had this soft toy and I do not remembe if it had a button nose on it. My girlfriend said it did not, i though it did and if it did. Did he maybe swallow the button and there is a blockage? Took the rawhide away. See if that helps with the situation as well. Calling the vet later this morning and see what they tell me Donna IP: Logged |

Dear Fellow Members, Took Nathan to the vet last night. She said that it could be caused by a couple of things. He could of swallowed a button that would of passed through his stool by now, or he snuck out and attacked a basket of dry roses that I have on Sunday and the roses or stems could have been eaten or he could just be irritated by pushing to hard. There was blood in the stool. She found that out when she took his temperture. Gave me a course of anitbiotics for the next 5 days and said he should be fine but if the problem persisits to let her know. Thanks for all your timely responses to this matter. Donna IP: Logged |
