HI, My three dogs spend a lot of time outside, and get dirty fast. They come in and sleep on their beds and get those dirty fast. Am I the only one that has a probelm with that? I know I can alunder them, but it's not a good solution for me. Thanks, IP: Logged |

Hello :') I use Scotch Guard Treatment spray on the towel, blanket, and bed that any of my pets sleep on. I allow it to dry, quickly run a lint roller over it, and then it's safe for the pets to sleep on. If they do get mud, litter, food crumbs, ertc., on the towel, blanket, or bed it comes off very easily. The few times I was the towel, blanket, or bed I use Downey Ehancer Softer, which seems to help keep mud, fur, and litter off. I know a few dog owners who have said the beds or blankets made with fleece help keep dirt off a little bit. IP: Logged |

My Witt has an $80.00 bed...yup, it's very cool, denim, stylish, huge and comfy. It's also SPOTLESS! Looks brand new. He prefers to sleep on me, LOL. I use Dove soap...it makes my skin soft! IP: Logged |

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about a dog bed that will not be so expensive, and will be able to change every 2 or 3 months. What do you think about that idea? IP: Logged |

I was being goofy above...I wasn't suggesting you spend alot on a bed, I did get that one though cause it's denim cover zips off and can be easily washed and denim washes nicely and lasts. My dogs are indoors with me so they don't get quite that dirty. Bi-Mart stores often have dog beds on sale for around $20, they have cedar filled liners inside and the outer fabric is washable. Walmart also has dog beds with more of a poly type fill on sale all the time for around the same. With three dogs thats still $60 every couple months if you were going to toss them and get new ones. How about blankets or sleeping bags purchased from thrift stores? OR... at either of the stores listed above I know you can get those egg shell foam mats in the camping dept, or larger ones in the bedding dept, those are usually inexpensive. If your dogs won't chew them up those might be a solution. I bought two sleeping bags at a garage sale for $2 each, doubled them over and sewed in big yarn knots throughout (like on a quilt), we give those to the dogs when we go camping. When we come home we take all our sleeping bags to the laundromat anyhow so I just wash those as well in the big washers. For two bucks you cold just toss them out though. IP: Logged |

maisey do yo have th LL bean one. I Have one and I have had it for 6 years and it it still in great shape! on the down side I orderd a another one last year for my other dog and they changed the fill. I really dont like it - it really bunches up I have been meaning to call them. depending on the type of dog you have, a lot of those cheap beds dont last. I far surpassed $80 because they did only last a few months. IP: Logged |

I got it at petsmart..not sure what it is, but it is a really nice one, has two covers, so if one gets icky, you zip it off for the wash and there is still one on it. The thing is...my kids lay on it more than the dog! He wants to be wherever I am, the only time he sleeps on it is when it is really hot, then he sleeps on it but wants me to keep my hand dangling off the side of the bed so he can keep his nose against it. When I am at the computer he is laying on my foot...when I drive he is leaning on me...get the picture? lol, I do love him! IP: Logged |
