I have recently kicked my ex-boyfriend out of my house. He was the one who spent most of the day with her. Normally when I come home for lunch she is very happy and all over me. Today she just stayed in her crate the whole time I was home. I have been very depressed lately and I'm worried that she is getting sad too. I want to make her happy any way I can. Any suggestions or comments. Do you think she is sad because of everything that is going on?

She very well could be sad pets have a way of knowing if your sad and depressed also she probably misses the ex.I'm not an expert, but try giving her lots of attention this might help.I hope you both can be happy soon.

Dogs do get depressed. My terrier when I first got him. He would go nuts when was not around, actually trying to climb our front screen to try to get to me. even though my huband was sitting right there. They are buddies now. Like Chancer said try to spend alot of time with her. she will get better in a week or two. Just don't have the ex coming and going giving her mixed messages. Much like with a human child. Keep her busy.

She seems to be doing better. I have been leaving her out of her crate during the day which I thinks good for her. I dont like keeping her confined all day long. I just cant wait till we are both over him.

All you need to do is after you get off of work go to a very populated park, dog park and throw yourself into where it is extremely busy with people. Do this alot. He will be a distant memory soon. Hang with your friends alot too. Soon enough you will be wondering what you even saw in him. Keep reminding yourself of all his bad points this will help. You have to do whats right for yourself and angel. Don't let him get the best of you.
