Ever since I got a dog I have realized how wonderful these animals are. I have had this weight on my chest about needing to do something for them. I am going to volunteer at the local shelters around town. I was wondering if anyone knows of a great career that involves working with animals on a daily basis, but not as a vet. I was looking online and came across a website for professional dog training. I dont know if this is a good business. What other jobs are out there that you can think of that I might be able to check out and see if that is something I want to do. Just curious what others think.

Yes, doggie day care that sounds great. Maybe be your own taxi for dogs that get driven to a doggie day care. I feel the same as you. Or groomer on wheels.

I dont know if there is any "good business" in dogs if you are referring to financial.
From my experience, working with dogs is constantly trying to mend the damage of irresponsible owners.
May I suggest becoming a foster home? There are so many wonderful dogs that just need a safe place until the pefect home can be found. Foster moms groom, obedience train, mend boo-boos, and dog sit and doggie daycare. Its a wonderful way of getting lots of exposure to ALL aspects of "dogworld". Not to mention all the lives you can save!

Thank you everyone for your input. I would love to be a foster mom, but I dont have the living space to do so. After I posted this I was looking into doggie daycares. I cant seem to find too many around town. I think that would be a great job. I would get to work with them all day long. I live in Tucson,AZ if any knows of any daycares in my area.
