hi my staffy had 9 puppys 5 weeks ago and they are fully weaned now. the mother has not fed them for a week but she seems to still be producing alot of milk. breasts feel solid, is this ok or not? she doesnt seem in any pain with them as she lets me touch them and doesnt try to run away or look bothered. cheers for any help, lucy xx IP: Logged |

If its anything like nursing children, then she just needs to wait for them to dry up. The pups should be eating kibble at least a week before they can go to new homes. If you are very worried you can call your vet and ask them to have your vet call you instead of stressing out the whole little doggie family by separating them and bringing mom to the vet. They do call homes, mine does. IP: Logged |

Hi Lucy, Where are you based in England for one as it's not everyday I see a fellow Englander on here and as far as the staffy is concerned it is just a case of waiting for the reserves to dry up and she certainly shouldnt experience any pain at all so just sit tight if I was you. ------------------ IP: Logged |
