I am sooo frustrated and hope some of you can give me wisdom.

Our family loves pets and we currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats....all of them are housetrained. The females of each (1 female and 1 male in both...all neutered/spayed) keep urinating in our home...it's happening more and more and it makes me wonder if they're marking spots, even though they are girls. The dog also will defecate at times.

How do I get them to realize the house is not the place to go potty? Why are they doing it more now as adults (dog is over a year old...cat 3 years old) Since we're not starting as puppy/kitty new stuff, I can't figure out what the heck is going on. Is there a product to make the carpets smell bad to them so they know it's not the place to use the bathroom? They can go out any time into the fenced in back yard thru a pet door. Sometimes the dog comes in from outside (he's the worse) and he goes to the dining room and does his thing. This is getting old and my hubby is ready to get rid of them....HELPPP!

woops...I mean SHE comes in and does HER thing in the dining room...see how confused I am over this thing? lol

And by the way, yes she was potty trained earlier and only had an occassional accident before the last few months. (the accident was usually a "number two" only)

What do you use to clean the carpets when they go. Natures Miracle works really well for getting the odor and stain off the carpet. There is stuff in pet stores to keep dogs away from areas. Number one dont know how well that works and number two it would only be useful if they only went in certin areas. Most dogs hate the smell of vinegar too so that might be a thought though i dont know if it would do anything to your carpet.

Another thing do your dogs do this when you are not around or do they do it right in front of you. If they do it when you are not around you may need to crate them. And when you are home tie a leash to you and wherever you go the dog goes. Just some thoughts.
