The bugs here in Oregon are terrible this year! The fly spray for my horse seems to work great on my dogs...however it isn't working all that well on my horses! We have to apply it very very often to make any difference. A friend of mine told me to try mixing tea tree oil in water and spraying that on them. I have some tea tree oil, but if I put it in water..it won't mix right? oil vs. water? Do you have any ideas? IP: Logged |

the oil and the water both have to be hot for them to mix properly. IP: Logged |

Hi Maisey, I believe there is something called polysorbate 20 that you can get to add to this and help emulsify the mixture. Otherwise try shaking it really well right before you spray it on (separates kind of like salad dressing does There may be other home remedies you could make up without having to use water, just other oils like citronella, lavender and even apple cider vinegar although I would check with a homeopath first for amounts etc. hope this helps a bit IP: Logged |
