I went to the park today with my dog foxie and my brother pat. We forgot foxie's toys so pat began throwing sticks..We were all having fun than pat picked up another stick and threw that one down a hill foxie caught it and broke it in half and got it stuck in her mouth. I heard her yelling and chocking, so i ran down the hill(tripped and fell) grabbed foxie and pulled out the piece of wook form her mouth. She kept whining so i looked again in her mouth, it was all full of blood. I got scared then and I carried foxie all the way home, gave her some water, and let her rest. Foxie now has a hole in her mouth on the right side in the back...I can't touch the right side of her face now becuase it still hurts her. But she'll be fine in a few days... ~*~ Don't pick up a stick and jus start playing fetch with your dog, or this could happen to your dog, chock, or even die! Get proper toys for your dog!!!~*~ IP: Logged |

Are you sure you shouldn't have taken her to the vet?? Wounds in the mouth are hard to heal and get infected easily. IP: Logged |

I have to agree with Karrie you should take your dog to the vets. Sores in the mouth can get easily infected and lead to further problems IP: Logged |

Thanks for the forewarning Angel, I too worry about my dogs getting sticks especially with other dogs around - I'm always worried about their eyes! Thanks for sharing and is your dog doing better? Hope so! Jas IP: Logged |
