Hi everyone. I have a question.I have a male German Shepherd who is now 8 months old, king bone, 85lbs, blk&tan, honey eyes, very smart, perfect stand, just a beautiful quality german shepherd, however he does not have any akc,ckc etc. papers and i would love to show him in the dog shows, he is champion material. Is there anyway i can get him started to become registered? I dont know how that works if anyone knows something about this subject, please let me know. I know he will be an excellent show dog. thank you. Oh, and one more thing. How can I show a picture of my dog on here?I dont know how yet but I would love to at least show him off here GSDmommy [This message has been edited by GSDmommy (edited 07-06-2003).] IP: Logged |

Hi GSDMommy, Your boy sounds like a beauty. I think its wonderful that you have interest in showing. Are you in contact with his breeder? The breeder should be able to assist you with this. Then I would call the AKC and talk to them. Were both of his parents registered? I'm pretty sure AKC would require proof - that he is indeed the right offspring of registered parents. If the parents were not registered, I don't think he can be... but I'm not completely sure how the AKC runs. good luck with this! If your breeder didn't give you an info package at the time of sale which spells out the procedure for registering your pet, then it's highly unlikely he/she registered the litter. If that's the case, you're out of luck. Unless of course he/she just didn't register the litter for whatever reason and would be willing to do so now. Gonna be expensive if that's the case. Registering a litter more than six months from the date of whelping is $65 extra. IP: Logged |
