I just heard on the TODAY show that Lowe's Hotels are very Pet Friendly and also have dog sitters and walkers.

LaQuinta is VERY, VERY DOG FRIENDLY up to 50 lbs.

Just thought I'd share as more folks are traveling with their pets these days.

We just went to Orlando for 9 days on the road with Sugar in our Motor Home for the first time and she did GREAT ....loved it...loved meeting all the other pups and smelling their NEWSPAPER at the RV Parks.

It was a GOOD experience.....even the "OUTSIDE" part on the road.

My flyball team never sems to have problems finding hotels that will take dogs. One of mine is 45.5 pounds and the other at only 7 months old is over 50 pounds. I have recently been looking for vacation rentals and hotels that allow dogs..when I search..I type in dog friendly vacation rentals or dog friendly hotels, I usually get a list and then go through and find out their rules and guidlines. The beach seems to be a hard one for hotels, alot of them say dog friendly, but mean dogs under 15 pounds.
PS good to hear from you Sugar, smiles, Maisey

i think that hotels should let animals in the hotels. Come on they are family. They sohuld let them come if they are potty trained!!! I wouldnt want to be left home if my family went on vacation

I most always stay at super 8, but last year I wanted to take Brandi with me, when I went to make a reservation they said no pets. I looked on the internet for pet friendly motels, and found Kelly Inn took pets. I called the one in Mitchell SD they said my dog was as welcome as I was. Thats where we stayed, going and coming back both. Brandi isn't large or small, 45 lbs. but they never asked how big she was, all they asked was, how was your stay?

Thats great...but I don't think we have those out here =(....I know I will get blasted for this but....it kills me that the hotels on the Oregon coast made such an issue about size...I have had small and big dogs I love them all, so I am not down on small dogs, but it seems to me that the little ones are the ones who are usually a pain. My dogs are very well behaved, well mannered, potty trained, they don't chew things, nor bark and they even know to wait at the door to have their feet wiped with a towel if we have been out getting wet or muddy. I keep them bathed and I am an owner who pays attention. So it burns me to no end to have someone tell me that because my dog weighs more than 15 pounds he is more likely to be a problem. My mother on the other hand, spoils the heck out of her chi dogs, she dotes on them, they don't have any manners and they DO have accidents. Yet she could take them to the same hotel and be welcomed!
