Hi,

I'm writing an article on dog blood bank and I am searching for stories of dogs who have receieved blood transfusion (because of surgery or disease etc.), and/or dogs who are blood donors.

If you are willing to share these stories, please email me at classydelfie@yahoo.com and provide ways to contact you (or you can describe the story directly on the email, also providing your name, location and your dog's name and breed).

I have the brochure for this program in my area, and had wanted to do it with my dog. I picked the brochure up when he was a puppy, unfortunately he is two years old now and only weighs 45.5 pounds, they must weigh at leaste 50 pounds. The good news is, I now have a 6 month old Catahoula Leopard Cur pup, he already weighs more than 50 pounds, so we will likely try to get involved when he is old enough. I think it is a great program.
You may want to check out some larger breed boards for stories as well, I have noticed that it seems most of the posters on this board have smaller dogs and may not be able to participate in the donor part. I may be the oddball with bigger dogs...but I like reading the posts here, and do find valuable information. Good luck with your article!
