My boxer is 4 days shy of being 7 months old. He will not housebreak completly. He lets us know most of the time when he needs to go out but there are times where he poops and pees in my dining room plus I find areas where he goes throughout the house. My vet has seen him, we've tried the treats, we've done the positive "good dog" routine and he just won't do it. He has even looked right at us and squated and pee'd. Our previous boxer never gave us this trouble. He has taken me over the edge. HELP, I'm on my last leg.

some fellas are later bloomers than others sometimes grasping the concept takes some dogs longer. Its not totally uncommon. As long as the vet has ruled out any medical problems (friends dog did this and the vet found a UTI infection once cleared dog no longer went inside). sounds like he partially understands but one thing is NOT to let him loose unsupervised even if this mean crating him more often (for now) when you can not watch him and taking him out every hour building up to 2 hrs then to 4. Or use the belly band and leash him to you as you go about doing things around the house, then you can be certain of what he is doing. also go back to the beginning like you are housetraining a baby pup. let out after feeding, drinking, playing. keep up with the praise and treats. it'll probably come together in a couple of months as long as you are hawk-eyed and consistent.

make sure any previously soiled areas have been thoroughly cleaned (vingegar & soap works well) so there is no scent which will bring his keen nose back to that spot.

I've cleaned with "Pet Smart" stuff but will try the Vinegar and Water. Thanks so much for the advice.
