We have a 9 month old male Brittany and a 3 year old female Golden Retriever. Both of them were "fixed" when they were about 4 months old. Our male Brittany has become our problem child. He is housetrained and we expanded his freedom in the house because he had proven himself trustworthy. He has recently started spraying. He will walk around and leave huge trails of little dribble spots. You can't even tell that he is doing it until the light hits the floor properly and you see all the little dabs of dribble. Now he's also recently started to urinate just before he's about to go outside. Our home was always fresh and clean - now I am just disgusted! Cleaning has become exhausting on tile & hardwood. I'm about to have our area rugs cleaned... but I desperately need some help and suggestions!!! Of course, they will not stay clean of we don't get to the root of this. We've always had female dogs in the past, so this is brand new territory for us! I now have him wearing diapers... but this is a pain and pretty ridiculous. In fact, he wet his diapers just last night. HELP - PLEASE !!!! ~~ thanks ~~ IP: Logged |

I think I would rule out an infection or the like by visiting the veterinarian, then if that checks out okay, I'd investigate a behavior problem. IMHO, it's likely to be an infection. IP: Logged |

If he's "dribbling", then I don't think he's actually marking, but he maybe just can't control himself for some reason or other. Have him checked out by a vet, it could be a bladder infection or some other problem affecting his ability to "hold it". IP: Logged |
