Hi my name is Cherie and I have a 11 month old boxer named Bondi. Last week she was sitting on the couch when I looked over at her and saw that she was having some kind of fit. She just went all stiff, her eyes were wide open and she was shaking. I tried calling out to her but she didn't snap out of it. Eventually I shook her and she came out of it. She walked around the lounge room looking confused like she had forgotten something. She was all right after this. I was just wondering if anyone knows what this was and if she will be ok. I was told that it might have been an epileptic fit.

it sounds as though it may have been a seizure.. had she eaten anything different (like a plant) earlier that day? had she been acting completely normal previous to this incident? have you approached her vet about this? if you have not i would suggest that you do.. good luck

Thanks! I have contacted her vet and she seems to think that everything will be ok!! If it starts to occur more frequently that is when you need to worry. If it does, it is manageable.

Please speak to the breeder about this also. They might be able to tell you if it is in her lines -- this you need to know. There are many things which can cause seizures and many types of seizures. Did you vet offer to do any blood work?
