I am getting ready to adopt a shi-poo. I need some advice on how to potty train and to keep them from chewing on stuff. I've never had this breed of dog, but it will be an inside dog and would greatly appreciate any good advice. IP: Logged |

when i first got my puppy, a shih-tzu/toy poodle mix i immediately went out and read every puppy book i could find at a bookstore.. i settled with puppies for dummies, since it answered the questions i had and met my needs the best.. i would suggest that you go and seek out puppy training books and find one that works for you.. good luck IP: Logged |

I have had my little shi poo for a week now and he (tucker) has been excellent with training to go potty. We are sticking to the take him outside to go potty. He doesnt use the potty pads or paper. He has been real good about it. He also is a crier when we leave him, but again he is getting better and he is adorable. someabouta@aol.com IP: Logged |

I have had schi-poo babies several times. In fact I have 4 wk old ones now for sale. They are so easy to train. I have a small play pen. I put their food in there, a rabbit for company and give it something to curl up to and a bed liner. One of those puppie training papers. They lear to go on that when no one is home. As soon as I would come home from work, at night and in the morning, I would take it outside. When she would go all day without messing in the play pen, then she graduated to the back porch. Same thing. Didn't take her long at all, just need to remember, they have to get old enough to hold it and get everything working right. IP: Logged |
