my 9 week old rott/doberman puppy was more or less housebroken up to about a week ago. then he started going pee where ever he felt like it. He also has not been listening as well as he was. Now he does go poo outside, but will not even try to go outside when he wants to pee like he was. why has this change of behavior occured? is it just a growing phase or what is it and how can i fix it? Please! someone help me!!!!

Do you punish your dog when you notice the boo boo or do you ignor it?

Do you catch him in the act or is he in another room by himself to do as he pleases?

It sounds like you haven't done your part to "teach" the dog where the appropriate place is to go to the wash room...there could be other issues but I neeed a response from you on those questions please!

Also, if he was listening before and not lisening now...my guess is he's decided to ignor you because you do too much talking and not enouph "teaching".

Remember that a dog does not understand your words....only your actions and tone of voice or body movements. Dogs pick up easily when you allow them to get away with things and will take advantage of that until you set them straight. I do not refer to setting them strait with spanking..never hit your dog, this will create a dog that wants nothing to do with you and run from you when you approach him.

Awaiting your response!

At nine weeks he still is a growing boy, and will relapse, just like a human, so persistence is the key. No one can be slow or even lax, this boy has nature calling!! LOL! Once grown, he'll be able to tell you when, and it ought to be infrequent, but for now.....and for a few weeks at least some more, until the muscles involved mature and it sets itself to memory. God bless.
