We have an 18 month old Toy Poodle who has recently begun urinating on counters, beds, against furniture... everywhere! We take him out a minimum of 6 times a day (usually more), praise him when he goes, give him a treat and try to watch him constantly... to no avail. Could it be medical? Is it just behavioral? Any suggestions or hints would be so greatly appreciated. IP: Logged |

I would take him to a vet, who just may catheterize him and see if it's a urinary infection. If he's a whole male, just may be he is leaving territorial fingerprints, shall we say. Get the vet check first, then you'll know, possible other problems the vet can say if so, and then, by process of elimination, sorry for the pun, behavioral or emotional...new stressors? God bless. I agree, He may be marking his territory. Is he neutered. If not then thats it. Try to use the stain removers to get out the smell and hopefully he won't go there again. Email me if your would like to know more about poodles I've got one. puttin510@earthlink.net IP: Logged |

Thank you both for you kind advice... and I enjoyed the pun I'll be calling the vet this morning. Cross your fingers he's just being 'difficult' and nothing is seriously wrong. I couldn't live without him! IP: Logged |
